One at home

Dear Editor:

One of our grandchildren families from Texas just left after spending a few days in Pagosa following a few days in Durango with other relatives. While in Durango, they went sledding. I commented, “I guess you went to the Rec Center while there” … “no, we have one of those at home; we go once in awhile, mainly in the summer when it is so hot”.

So, again, do our citizens need to be taxed to build a facility that is basically for entertainment that will be costly to maintain, hoping that it will draw out-of-town guests who have such things at home? And how many times a month will most of our locals be able to afford a ticket?
