New Year’s Eve celebration, fund-raiser to benefit Ed Center

By Lynell Wiggers

Looking for a fun, classy place to dance in the New Year?

We would like to cordially invite you to spend the evening with us: 2012 will be escorted out and 2013 will be rung in as we celebrate a great year and look forward to another year of opportunity at the Archuleta County Education Center.

Festivities will begin at 8 p.m. Dec. 31 and finish up soon after midnight at the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse. There will be a cash bar, a complimentary champagne midnight toast, door prizes, silent auction items galore, dance demonstrations, locally-catered, delectable hors d’oeuvres and desserts, and our very own Pagosa favorite D.J., Mike Hayward.

All this and more for a ticket price of $40 for singles or $70 for two. All proceeds will benefit our programs and operating expenses at Archuleta County Education Center.

Since 1987, we have enjoyed success with our variety of after-school programs, adult community education classes, GED and English as a Second Language classes. However, with tough economic times, funding sources are challenging.

But, the desire to celebrate will not be diminished.

We will also invite you to save the date of March 20 for our 25th anniversary celebration luncheon.

Tickets are available on our website at www.ArchuletaCountyEdcuationCenter.com, at the Chamber of Commerce, at the Education Center at the corner of 4th and Lewis streets and at the door.

For more information, call 264-2835.
