Learn to square dance every Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. starting March 12 at the Ross Aragon Community Center.

Four Corners-based caller Carla Roberts will teach simple calls that are quick to learn in a fun, easygoing and free class open to families, couples and singles. Suggested age for children is at least 8 years old.

Square dancing in Pagosa Springs has been popular for decades as part of our western heritage. Modern western square dance continues to evolve and grow and includes many different skill levels.

In this new class, Roberts will teach the basic level, so new dancers can quickly master enough calls (or dance steps) to experience the exhilaration of dancing in a group setting. The ongoing class focus is for everyone to have an enjoyable dance session while learning the building blocks of square dance.

To best enjoy dancing, wear comfortable clothes and shoes. The Ross Aragon Community Center is located at 451 Hot Springs Blvd. For more information, call Carla at 903-6478.
