By popular demand, the sequel to the show that features the most memorable melodies of musical comedy is coming to Durango at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College hosts the widely-acclaimed “Neil Berg’s 101 Years of Broadway,” Wednesday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m.

“Neil Berg’s 101 Years of Broadway” is the follow-up to the hit musical revue “Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway.” Like the original, the show recreates the greatest moments from the top musicals of the century as a cast of five Broadway stars backed by an all-star New York band perform songs from shows such as “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Miserables,” “Evita,” “Cats,” “Wonderful Town,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” and more.

As noted in the Buffalo News, “Broadway tunes leave audiences with an enchanted evening. Neil Berg is a powerful, kinetic pianist with a load of chops … What (made) Berg’s production was the quality of the performers and the arrangements. The singers were excellent. Berg creates a well-balanced blend of the sublime and the lighthearted.”

Along with musical director and pianist Neil Berg, plus the live band, the Durango production will feature Ron Bohmer Carter Calvert, Sandra Joseph, Ted Levy, and Danny Zolli. (Cast subject to change based upon possible Broadway and touring developments.)

Wrote Robert Diamond, Broadwayworld.com, “Whenever Neil Berg is putting on his 100 years of Broadway within a two hour radius — I’m there! Neil puts on these hit-filled concerts featuring a bevy of Broadway performers some of the theater’s most well-known tunes. It brought down the house, and it doesn’t get much better than that.”

Tickets for “Neil Berg’s 101 Years of Broadway” — $28/$40 — are available by calling 247-7657, and on the web at www.durangoconcerts.com.

Showtime is 7:30 p.m., with doors to the Concert Hall and concessions, serving beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks, opening at 6:30
