Dear Editor:

Thank you to everyone who mentions reading my letters to me. I have always been positive. Good things seem to happen to me after I have suffered a crisis and I so appreciate that. So I felt things were going in a forward direction and now this visitors center fiasco is taking place. To paraphrase others’ comments, why would you try to fix something that was not broken? With the exception of two members of the town council, I wonder what you other idiots were thinking. It sounds like a power grab to me.

And what a terrible insult this was to Mary Jo and the other women warriors at the Chamber, as you pulled the rug out from under their feet. Because most of you do not bother to attend the spectacular events that occur on an annual basis in this community, you could not possibly appreciate the amount of sweat and tears poured out to make each one a success.

To mechanize the visitors center and lose the personal touch is the worst mistake of all. And you will find out as the “diplomats” drop by the wayside to protest the decisions that were just made.
