Dear Editor:

Maybe I do not understand correctly, but if the town is wanting to automate the Visitor Center, I think it would be a mistake.

Chama has a manned Visitor Center and the person behind the counter is extremely helpful and gives good advice of sights, places that are unique and recommendations.

Durango has a building downtown and it houses FLC, ticketing and Visitor Information. They also have PCs. The help is very courteous and want to help with any and all questions and recommendations.

Pagosa has a really nice Visitor Center and the volunteers are extremely helpful and the personal touch beats any PC.

If you were traveling would you like information? Would you prefer it to come from a helpful person who knows or a PC?
