Membership survey to be sent out next week

SUN Columnist

The Chamber of Commerce will be sending out a member survey beginning April 8. The survey consists of five easy-to-answer questions designed to assist the Chamber board and staff in a more focused approach to membership and community needs. The survey will ask members to rank services that the Chamber provides or recommend some services that may be lacking. Services would include items such as events, business advocacy, education, business promotion, economic development and networking opportunities, just to name a few of the categories. Other questions on the survey are directed towards event production and how the Chamber can reach out to more businesses or provide additional services.

The survey should only take a few minutes. We are attempting to gather a broad range of input and ideas. There are no wrong answers and we hope that we get a great response. The Chamber wants to hear from you, listen to your feedback, and keep what we are doing right, improve on some services and incorporate those services that the public feels are important. We will also have hard copies of the survey available at the Chamber for those who do not want to mess around with clicking on the links in order to take the survey.

Questions regarding the survey can be directed to Cindi at the Chamber. Give us your input and help us build a better Chamber and business community for Pagosa Springs.

Hanging baskets

We will begin taking orders for our annual beautiful hanging baskets soon. Watch for the notification next week. We will again have two choices of baskets: 12-inch and 16-inch. A limited number of baskets in each size will be offered as the growers have already started their basket plantings. The 12-inch baskets will be offered again at $28 per basket and the 16-inch baskets are $100 each. Each basket also comes with a starter supply of fertilizer.

We anticipate that the smaller baskets will be delivered just before Memorial Day, because we know by then people just can’t stand to not have flowers and color around their home and business . However, we also caution everyone that, as you know, wait five minutes and the weather will change here in Pagosa. So, while we may deliver the flowers, we caution you to watch the weather and take the flowers inside, out of windy conditions or freezing nights. These conditions zap the beauty out of the baskets. And you will need to water, water, water.

You can call the Chamber and place your order or fill out the form that we will have available. Hanging baskets may be purchased with cash, check or credit card in advance of the delivery of the flowers. This year, because May will be a major transition month for our organization, we are also asking that if you pick up your baskets from the Chamber, please let us know. We will also still deliver baskets when necessary.

This annual “beautify Pagosa” project is so uplifting and really adds a special touch to the ambiance of our community. For more information, contact the Chamber and get your order in soon.
