Marching orders

Dear Editor:
On January 2, in the midst of a government shutdown, an erratic stock market, a failing trade war, and the catastrophic resignation of General Mattis, Donald Trump informed his Cabinet that it was right for the USSR to invade Afghanistan in 1979. Whaaat? That was 40 years ago. What relevance does this have to the turmoil engulfing his administration?
