The first bowl making session in preparation for the Jan. 25 Empty Bowls event will coincide with World Food Day, Wednesday, Oct. 16. The session will take place in the elementary school art room.

World Food Day is Wednesday, Oct. 16.

It is also the kickoff date for making bowls for the local Empty Bowls program.

The bowl making session will take place in the elementary school art room. The program requests a $5 donation per bowl as they are made, to help pay for supplies.

The session will be held at 6 p.m. and there is room for only 10 participants on this night. Children under the age of 10 are welcome to join in, but they are to be accompanied by an adult. If you can’t make it, there will be other opportunities.

Call (970) 769-4212 from 6-9 p.m. for more information.

No experience is necessary. The session is also a potluck,  so bring food for all to enjoy.

The Empty Bowls event is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25.
