The Saturday evening break-in at a local ski and sports shop appears to have yielded no stolen items, but local law enforcement are seeking the perpetrator or perpetrators responsible.
At 7:57 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, a burglary alarm went off at Summit Ski and Sports, located on the east end of Pagosa Springs, and Sgt. T.J. Fitzwater was dispatched to the scene, according to Det. Scott Maxwell of the Pagosa Springs Police Department.
Fitzwater arrived within minutes of the alarm and discovered a window in the rear of the business had been broken, but no suspects were found at the scene.
“A suspect or suspects had apparently entered the business and attempted to gain entry into a safe,” Maxwell said. “The safe was damaged.”
Maxwell said an initial investigation did not reveal any stolen items and it does not appear a perpetrator was able to gain entry to the safe, though the incident is still under investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Maxwell by calling 264-4151, Ext. 241.
