Meg Wempe

When asked about running, Meg Wempe, who serves as assistant director of the Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library, smiled and said, “That is a funny question, kids run all the time and it is almost becomes like a punishment; like having to run laps. But, running is such a natural thing to do. I started running as an adult about eight years ago. I had decided I wanted to do a triathlon, with swimming, biking and running.”

Wempe is currently training for long-distance triathlon. “I am currently training for the Iron Distance Triathlon in Oklahoma City towards the last of September. It will be a 2.4-mile swim, then you do 112-mile bike ride, get off and run a full marathon of 26.2 miles,” Wempe said.
