Local bands to entertain at free concert

By Lynne McCrudden
Special to The PREVIEW

Ever heard there’s no such thing as a free lunch?

Maybe not, but there is a free summer concert provided by FACE (Foundation for Archuleta County Education) from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 225 S. Pagosa Blvd.

All Archuleta County families and visitors are welcomed to enjoy a summer evening of music provided by local bands, including Leadfoot Ruthie, Brooks Lindner, PBR, Blue Grass Cadillac and hopefully some of the talented kids from the Americana Project — all hoping to be voted the favorite local band of the summer.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided at no charge.

Votes for the bands will be contributions to FACE, to assist in educational opportunities for local K-12 students. A traveling trophy will be awarded to the winning band.

Come to St. Patrick’s — eat, drink and dance to the music of these great bands and learn more about the Foundation for Archuleta County Education.

For more information, contact Lynne McCrudden, FACE president, at 264-4629.
