Special to The PREVIEW

A special Thanksgiving pizza dinner was served at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church last Friday evening to honor the many volunteers and organizations who make the Loaves and Fishes hot meal ministry possible, and board president Nancy Crouse handed out certificates of appreciation to each organization that participates in providing hot meals each week.

Participating organizations include: Weminuche Audubon Society, John Paul II Catholic Church, Centerpoint Church, Community United Methodist Church, Wolf Creek Wonders 4-H Club, Mountain View Homemakers, Grace Church, Visiting Angels, Our Savior Lutheran Church, Rotary Club of Pagosa Springs, Pagosa Mountain Morning Rotary, Soccoro Senior Housing, St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Veterans for Veterans of Archuleta County, Archuleta County Victim Assistance Program (ACVAP), Pagosa Fire Protection District, The Queen Family and Pagosa Springs High School Advisory Program.

For the past 10 years, Loaves and Fishes, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, has been serving free hot lunches to around 300 people each week at the Parish Hall on Lewis Street. These are full nutritional meals, complete with meat, vegetables, bread, salad, beverage and dessert.
