Thirty-five members and seven parents of the Wolf Creek Wonders 4-H Club spent a day doing community service at the Loaves and Fishes community lunch recently. Members chopped, mixed, grilled, set up, decorated, served, bussed tables and cleaned up. The menu was grilled hamburgers, green salad, ham and broccoli casserole and dessert, and 345 meals were served. 4-H is a youth development program focused on leadership, citizenship and life skills. The Archuleta County 4-H program has 147 youth ages 5-18, representing about 100 families, involved in the program this year. Loaves and Fishes provides a nutritious meal in a safe, warm and caring environment to anyone who comes seeking nourishment and fellowship. Loaves and Fishes serves a free lunch every Thursday at the downtown Catholic Parish Hall on Lewis Street. The 4-H program will be hosting its annual Chuckwagon Dinner during the Archuleta County Fair Saturday, Aug. 2, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and the community is invited.
