In his Encyclical to the faithful,  Evangelium Vitae,  now Blessed Pope John Paul II refers to John’s Gospel when he states that, “the joy which accompanies the Birth of the Messiah is thus seen to be the foundation and fulfillment of joy at every child born into the world” — (cf. Jn 16:21).

As the heart of the Savior’s message, this Gospel of Life is one which we the Catholic Church, as many others, choose to be our guiding light.

It is imperative, therefore, that we do the work which promotes and protects this Gospel message.

On Dec. 23, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Catholic high school youth group, LifeTeen, is hosting a breakfast fund-raising event at IHM Parish Hall in support of the Pagosa Springs Pregnancy Center.

These funds will provide the center with roses for their Sanctity of Human Life celebration this January. Extra funds will go toward the continual growth of the youth group, that they may further their commitment to Christ and community.

Tickets will be sold at the door for $5 per plate. Breakfast includes drinks and a delicious homemade meal.

All are invited to partake in this life-saving chowdown.
