‘Liberal media’

Dear Editor:

The myth of a “liberal media” should have been put to rest after the past week’s trotting out of Dick Cheney and many of the architects and supporters of the Iraq war on  the “news” programs. Dick Cheney, the biggest liar of them all, is making the rounds on the talking head circuit. The media seems to be trying to pretend it wasn’t complicit in the run up to the war as it rolled over to the Bush administration’s lies. The Bush administration lied about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction, that we would be greeted as liberators, that Iraq oil would pay for the war, that Saddam was involved in 9/11, the war would only last weeks, etc. Because of these lies we lost thousands of military personnel and are continuing to lose them due to suicide and other health issues. We added several trillion dollars to our country’s debt and destroyed the infrastructure of Iraq (while ours crumbles). The Bush neocons disbanded the Iraqi army and the largest political party, the Baathists. They allowed the Iraqi PM Maliki to form a government that didn’t include the Sunnis and they tried to create a Capitalistic utopia by ridding the country of its social safety nets. They created the power vacuum and social unrest that is coming to a head at this time, but here’s the media giving the liars a forum in which to bash the president. Many of us that opposed the war in the first place argued that this would happen. That the real reason for the war was oil, military hegemony and profit. Glenn Beck finally got one correct when he said the liberals were right about Iraq. There is one truth that the Cheneys never bring up and that is Dick Cheney became very wealthy man because of the war. His company, Halliburton, made billions of dollars in no-bid contracts along with other shadowy right-wing groups, including Blackwater. If there was truly a “liberal media” the Iraq war might never have happened or the lies, fraud and criminal activities may have been brought to light. Sadly, that is not the case and our media is failing us. I long for the days of a liberal media because truth has a liberal bias. So crawl back into the hole from whence you came, Mr. Cheney and take your hateful daughter with you.

Wow Dave, so many inaccuracies and timeline failures in your diatribe. Sit back and have a snow cone or something. BTW, there is so very much a liberal bias in the media that they(NBC,ABC,CBS, etc) are trying so hard to make it look not so, that it is sickening. There is a liberal bias, there were wmd’s and all the rest of your rant is so silly that an 8th grader could tear it apart.

Go ahead and tear it apart, give me one inaccuracy and I will debate you any time.

As far as WMDs, look up the Iraq Survey Group’s final report; there were no WMDs, The Iraq Survey Group was formed in 2003 by the Bush Administration specifically to look for WMDs. The report is easy to find, even an 8th grader could do it.
