LASSO, Large Animal Support Southwest Organization, is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), that was founded in 2000 as a horse rescue organization. Today, it is much more than that. Every day, members assist horse owners in a variety of ways — from re-homing, placing horses in foster homes, lending temporary assistance through its horse food bank, gelding and even euthanasia, when necessary. For the last five years, it has provided equine-assisted therapy to special needs children and adults. In addition, LASSO hosts the equine Special Olympics three-day event each summer.
If you would like to make a contribution or volunteer your time and talent to any of these programs, call one of the above numbers. Visit lassohorserescue.org for more information.
