Lady Pirate freshman Morgan Lewis goes up for two against several Mean Moose during the Pirates’ 52-26 victory over Alamosa on Feb. 19. The Lady Pirates are heading into this weekend’s league tournament as the top team and with a 10-0 league record.

The Pagosa Springs High School Lady Pirates walked away with another win Feb. 19, giving them a perfect 10-0 league record (and 19-0 season record) as they head into postseason play tonight.

The Pirates’ 10th league win came against the Alamosa Mean Moose, with the Pirates doubling their opponents’ score, 52-26.

“I thought the girls played well in that game, took care of business,” coach Wes Lewis said.

In fact, the team took care of business in steady fashion, outscoring their opponent in each of the four quarters.

By the end of the first quarter, the Pirates led the Mean Moose 14-6, then improved that lead to 28-15 by halftime — a 13-point lead.
