K I S S — Keep It Simple, Stupid

By Jan Davis
Special to The PREVIEW

Isa. 55:9  — “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Eccl. 12:12-13 —  “And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”

I Cor. 2:14 —  “But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

I am thankful for the Word of God revealed to man through His Holy Spirit. I may not understand God’s ways, but through simple faith I believe His Word.

I cannot visualize how he created the universe in seven days, or created man from the dust of the earth and breathed into him the breath of life, but He did.

I cannot conceive how he stepped from His throne in heaven and became man’s substitute on the cross, died, was buried and rose again, but He did.

I cannot comprehend how He healed the sick, caused the blind to see and the lame to walk, but He did and still does.

I can’t grasp how He delivered the demon- possessed, setting their tortured minds free, or today delivers the alcoholic or addict, but He did and still does.

I don’t understand why He forgave me of my sins, or loves me, but He did and does.

It boggles my mind to think some day He will return for me, that where He is I may be also, but He will.

Through simple faith I believe He is the first and the last, he lived, died and lives for evermore; conquering hell and death.

I love you, but Jesus loves you more!
