International exhibit features two local artists, closes Saturday

Don’t miss out on seeing the work of two Pagosa printmakers who are part of the Print International 4 exhibit at SHY RABBIT that closes after gallery hours on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The prestigious international juried exhibition features 98 pieces by 67 artists, representing 27 U.S. states, Canada and Iceland.

This year’s juror was Michael Krueger, associate professor of art, University of Kansas.

Print International 4 marks the first year that prints representing current and previous years Jurors were prominently displayed in the SHY RABBIT Foyer Gallery by invitation of SHY RABBIT Contemporary Arts.

Two of Pagosa’s own were among those selected by Krueger for inclusion in the SHY RABBIT Print International 4.

“Clouds Across the Ovum” (monoprint, 20 x 20) by Pagosa Springs Middle School art teacher Gail Hershey is currently on display, along with “Visitation” (monoprint, 23 x 31) by Pagosa artist Judy Robbins.

SHY RABBIT is open to the public daily, at no charge, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is located at 333 Bastille Drive, two blocks north of U.S. 160, off of North Pagosa Boulevard.

SHY RABBIT presents four to six exhibitions annually, showcasing the finest in contemporary art by emerging, mid-career, nationally and internationally recognized artists throughout the world.
