Hunter rescued after injury

A hunter who received a cut and was unable to walk is loaded onto a UTV to be driven out to a waiting ambulance on Oct. 25. Members of the Archuleta County Office of Emergency Management, search and rescue and EMS hiked to the hunter, while the UTV was driven in.

A hunter in the Valle Seco area sustained a “fairly bad” cut and had to be driven out by search and rescue volunteers, emergency management personnel and, finally, by ambulance last Thursday, Oct. 25.
