Humane Society Chocolate Auction — one sweet evening

By Mike Stoll
Special to The PREVIEW

The annual Humane Society Chocolate Auction and dinner will be held on March 16, at the Pagosa Springs Youth Center.

This popular event raises funds for the day-to-day operating expenses of the animal shelter by auctioning decadent chocolate desserts created by local chefs, caterers, candy stores and restaurants.

It is truly one sweet evening!

This year’s Chocolate Auction will not be a Chamber of Commerce SunDowner, so the event is moving to Saturday evening rather than mid-week. The auction will be open to the general public with the purchase of a ticket for admission.

The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs does not receive funding from any national organizations such as the Humane Society of the United States, American Humane, the ASPCA or United Way. The animal shelter relies on revenue from private donations, the thrift store and fund-raisers such as the Chocolate Auction.

Please mark your calendars for March 16 and plan to attend a truly fun event. Watch for more details in future issues of The SUN.
