Special to The PREVIEW
Dancing (yes, dancing), Vegas-style gaming, hors d’oeuvres and Pagosans wearing funky Hollywood and Mardi Gras costumes.
What more could one ask for to chase those mid-winter blues?
It’s the bigger and better edition of Rotary’s Casino Night, which will be held this year on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Ross Aragon Community Center.
The silent auction will be a part of the evening’s fun. This year’s silent auction promises to have even more selective, quality delights to bid on.
Aside from the fun and lots of laughs, there’s a serious side to the evening: This is the local Rotary club’s principal fund-raiser for its yearly scholarship awards to local students. Last year, Rotary awarded scholarships worth $20,000 to graduating Pagosa Springs high school students and that’s the plan for the upcoming crop of graduates. Casino Night is what makes this all possible.
Plan to attend. Buy your tickets now from any Rotarian, at Exit Realty or the Ross Aragon Community Center. It’ll be the best $40 (per person) you’ll spend this year.
