Hillary Clinton

Dear Editor:

It has become increasingly apparent that Hillary Rodham Clinton is preparing to run for president in 2016. The most obvious indication is the recent article in the New York Times (NYT) by David Kirkpatrick, which casts further confusion on what really happened in Benghazi, Libya, the night of 9/11/2012 leading to the death of four Americans. If you have followed the reports in the media, the charges and counter-charges in Congress, and the still on-going debate as to who or what led to the attack, you probably wonder if the full truth will ever surface. Considering the proclivity of the Obama administration to fabricate excuses and lies to cover up their ineptitude, we probably will never know.

Rather than rehash the events and controversy surrounding Benghazi, let’s focus principally on Hillary’s role in this debacle. She was Secretary of State at the time, the person responsible for the security of all U.S. embassies abroad, as well as the safety of the individuals assigned to them, from the ambassador to the lowliest clerk.

Perhaps you may recall that during the 2008 primary campaign, Hillary said she was “the best qualified candidate to answer a 3 a.m. emergency telephone call” (should she be elected president), and should she have to respond to an international incident. However, when the Benghazi attack began she, like Obama, was AWOL (Absent With Out Leave). The Deputy Chief of Mission in Tripoli, the ambassador’s deputy, repeatedly requested assistance for our people in Benghazi but it fell on (Hillary’s) deaf ears in Washington. Also, and unbelievably, repeated requests for assistance from U.S. military units was denied.

Ever since this deplorable response to an emergency situation, Hillary and others in the Obama administration have been attempting to cover-up for her and to provide excuses in a blatant attempt to rehabilitate her reputation so this will not be an issue in the 2016 election. The NYT article is the most recent effort to absolve her of responsibility for Benghazi, and you can be sure there will be more. In the meantime she is busy organizing “PACs” (Political Action Committees) to energize the Democrat Party’s base, the liberal voters who abandoned her in the 2008 primaries, for Obama. And good ol’ Bill will be pulling out all the stops behind the scenes.

In frustration over all the questioning of her role in Benghazi and what really led to the death of four great Americans, Hillary finally asked “what difference at this point, does it make?” It should make a big difference, really. It should forever disqualify her from being a serious candidate for the presidency. She has demonstrated quite clearly she is no better qualified to be president than Obama …

Mr, Stansbury stated facts for his opinion on Hillary, Obviously the person who commented “just another Hillary Hater” is a Clinton supporter. To change Mr. Stanbury’s opinion I wished
they had given him some of the positive things Hillary has accomplished.

Selective memory or just plain ignorant? Should we crucify Reagan for the October 1983 barracks bombing in Beirut, Lebanon? 244 Americans killed by “Islamist Jihadists.” Sound familiar or more horrific than Benghazi? We retaliated with a lobbing of shells into Syria. We then promptly withdrew from Lebanon. Or you might say, “cut and run.” Oh, but Hillary knew you protest…… well, our Beirut embassy was bombed earlier that year, April 1983, with a death toll of 63 Americans. Reagan and the world knew then that this part of the world is not a friendly place and where it is difficult to trust anyone or deal with anyone. Was Reagan unqualified to be reelected after those fiascos as Hillary is now? Please put your prejudice in perspective to comment with any credibility.
