Lady Pirate Emma Heidelmeier comes up for air during the 100-yard breaststroke finals as part of the Southwest Conference Championship meet over the weekend. Heidelmeier finished 16th in the event and became the first Lady Pirate in program history to qualify for the state tournament. State tournament action will take place Feb. 8-9 at the Edora Pool/Ice Center in Fort Collins.

Making their first splash (pun intended) in the Southwest Conference Championship meet this past weekend on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 in Grand Junction, the Lady Pirates showed that they can compete, placing in the top 20 in many events whilst also having one Lady Pirate qualify for the state tournament.
