“Hairspray,” the Broadway musical full of non-stop exhilarating song and dance, is coming to town.

You will be transported to the early ‘60s in Baltimore, where the “twist” is revered, blacks and whites are segregated and beehive hairdos are in fashion.

The pit orchestra has started practicing, led by music director Dan Burch, and rehearsals with the cast and crew of over 60 are entering the final phase of preparations.

Hairspray opens April 1 and plays through April 5 at 7 p.m. the high school. Tickets are available at the door for $10, with proceeds benefiting the high school performing arts department.
