Dear Editor:

The LPEA Board of Directors election material will be mailed out this Friday, April 19. I am supporting the incumbent Lindon (Lin) Stewart and I urge the members of District 1 to vote for and re-elect Lin.

As a fellow professional engineer, I have enjoyed many discussions with Lin about his wealth of experience in the power plant engineering and construction industry and his insight into the challenges facing the LPEA board. During his career, he was involved in solar, biomass, waste to energy, coal and natural gas fired turbine power generation technologies. Lin really understands the generation and distribution of electricity.

A resident of Pagosa Springs for over 10 years, Lin also understands our community and is committed to being as fair as possible to all members of LPEA. He will work to keep our rates as low as reasonably possible. Lin’s only agenda is to provide safe, reliable electricity at reasonable cost and environmentally responsible as stated in the LPEA Mission Statement.

Lin supports “Alternative Energy” under current legislation, but feels it must not burden the members with higher electric rates.

Lin is clearly the best choice for the LPEA Board of Directors and we should be very grateful for his willingness to continue his contribution.
