Gov. John Hickenlooper will join the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade on Friday to meet with various businesses and community leaders in La Plata County and discuss economic development.
The trip is part of continued efforts to execute the strategy and objectives outlined in the Colorado Blueprint, which was created in 2011 during the first Bottom-up Economic Development Tour. The Blueprint continues to be the statewide work plan to spur Colorado’s economy, help businesses grow and attract new jobs to the state. Today at 11 a.m. Gov. Hickenlooper will visit StoneAge Waterblast Tools, a global leader in manufacturing waterblast tools and automated high-pressure solutions. This company is a past recipient of the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting and a Colorado Company to Watch. Stoneage is located at 466 S. Skylane Drive in Durango.
At noon Gov. Hickenlooper will deliver remarks at the Colorado Blueprint meeting with local business and community leaders. This meeting will be held at Durango Discovery Museum, 1333 Camino Del Rio in Durango.
Following these Durango appearances, the governor will head to Mesa and Routt counties to continue his discussions on economic development on Friday afternoon and Saturday.
More economic development trips related to the Colorado Blueprint are planned for the coming weeks in other parts of the state.
