Get ready for the Holiday Bazaar

Special to The PREVIEW

Once again, the Mountain View Homemakers Club will sponsor the annual Holiday Bazaar.

This year’s bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 2 at the Ross Aragon Community Center. Included will be all the fun, food, shopping and visiting you remember from past years … and more.

The Holiday Bazaar is the traditional kickoff for the holiday shopping season. This year, it will include many artists and craftspeople. Many of your neighbors in Archuleta County have been busy making the wide variety of gifts and goodies you’ll see on Nov. 2. Also, there will be some vendors who will travel from different parts of the Four Corners area to bring their creations here. There will be 65 booths for you to enjoy while looking for the perfect gift for that special someone on your Christmas list.

In addition to the booths, three other important areas should be of interest to everyone: the amazing bake sale; a silent auction featuring the every-popular gift baskets; and The Youth Center Diner, where you can have a great breakfast and/or lunch.

Come early if you want to purchase one of the specialty cakes at the bake sale, but all day long there will be delicious homemade cakes, cookies, pies, breads and more available. Liz Schnell and her committee are lining up donations of wonderful items for the sale. She welcomes a call to 264-5735 if you bringing a plate or basket of goodies. All proceeds from the bake sale will go to the Ruby Sisson Memorial Library.

This is the second year the Pagosa Springs Youth Center has taken the responsibility for feeding everyone at the bazaar.  The youth group is under the direction of Joanne Irons. All proceeds from The Youth Center Diner will go to the organization.

The silent auction is back for a seventh year. Mountain View Homemakers Club member Aileen Wolfer is committee chairperson, and she has many excellent gift baskets made by the club members ready for bids. The baskets are great as Christmas presents or fun hostess gifts for you to take on your Thanksgiving travels.
