Special to The SUN
Rotary’s annual Pagosa Benefits Golf Tournament and Golf Ball Drop is coming up on Saturday, June 29.
The first flight tees off at 9 a.m. at the Pagosa Springs Golf Club.
It’s a fun day for golfers of all abilities — even beginners. There’ll be lots of prizes and awards: gross and net winners in the four-person scramble, closest to the flag, men’s and women’s longest drive, straightest drive and longest putt.
Plus, if your ball is closest to the hole in the Golf Ball Drop, you’re going to win several thousand dollars. Specifically, you’ll get 20 percent of the gross amount of the Golf Ball Drop sales. Prior to June 29, you can buy your Golf Ball Drop tickets from any Rotarian. On the day of the event, buy your Golf Ball Drop tickets at the Rotary table at the Pagosa Springs Golf Club. For a chance to win the big bucks in the Golf Ball Drop, you’ll get three balls for $100. When purchased singly, each ball is $40.
“Benefits” is the right word for this fun golf outing. The money raised benefits the Rotary Scholarship Fund, which awards substantial scholarships each year to local high school grads who are moving on to college.
To sign up or for more information, call Troy Persson at the Golf Shop, 731-4755. The signup fee is $75 per person and includes the green fee, cart fee, range balls and lunch. For annual members of the Pagosa Springs Golf Club, the signup fee is $35.
Be sure to mark the date — Saturday, June 29. Be sure to sign up. And don’t forget to buy the balls for the Golf Ball Drop.
This is a very special day, one in which everybody wins.
For more information, call Rotarian Dave Richardson at 264-6427.
