What do you get if you mix together dirt, water, running and a variety of obstacles? The inaugural Pirate Plunge Mud Run, which was held last weekend to benefit athletics at Pagosa Springs High School. Competitors of all ages and abilities competed in the 5k mud run and obstacle course, which pitted the participants against feats such as walls to climb, sand bags to carry and a wall of tires. The event finished in traditional Pagosa style — with a party — at Yamaguchi Park.
