“FRIENDS! The Musical Parody” kicks off the winter-spring performing arts series at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College on Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. The show is recommended for adult audiences.
“FRIENDS! The Musical Parody” is a comedic musical that lovingly lampoons the television show “Friends” — celebrating the misadventures of everyone’s favorite group of 20-something pals as they navigate the pitfalls of work, life and love in 1990s Manhattan.
Twice extended in New York since its opening in October 2017 and called “a delightfully naughty confection,” the musical plucks the best moments from the TV show’s 10 years and recreates those moments through an uncensored, fast-paced romp. Indeed, it’s a seemingly typical day at New York’s coffee shop, Central Perk, until an unexpected runaway bride with beautiful hair enters the picture and kicks the gang into comedic action.
“FRIENDS! The Musical Parody” is said to keep audiences laughing as well as tug at the heartstrings recalling regular themes: Will Rachel and Ross get together? Will Monica ever find love? Will Joey have an acting career?
