Friends of the Library annual sale tomorrow

By Lynn Frederick

Special to The SUN

The annual book sale for the library will be held tomorrow and Saturday, Aug. 16-17, at a new location, the Centerpoint Church, 2750 Cornerstone Drive.

The members’ potluck, sale and annual meeting will be at 6 p.m. Friday. The sale is open to the general public on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It is not too late to renew your membership or to join if you have not done so since last year’s sale. That can be done at the library or prior to the potluck at the church. Dues are $15 for an individual, $25 for a family, or $100 per person for a lifetime membership.

To help with planning, please call the library (264-2209) to let them know you will be attending and what you will be bringing. Table service and beverages will be provided by the Friends.

Those who have attended the sale in previous years know that there are books to satisfy every reader. From fiction and nonfiction, from A to Z, you will find many books you cannot be without. Although boxes will be provided, you may want to bring your own totes for your haul. And, of course, you will find DVDs and CDs along with many children’s books.

Prices will not break the budget at $2 for hardback and large soft covers, $1 per disc, and a bargain of only 10 cents for children’s books. What a great way to spend an allowance! Cash and checks will be accepted, but not credit cards.

This is the Friends of the Library only fund-raiser. Proceeds help support the library programs, such as the Summer Reading Program.
