Friends of the Library annual sale Friday

By Lynn Frederick
Special to The PREVIEW

The annual book sale for the library will be held tomorrow and Saturday, Aug. 15-16, at Centerpoint Church, 2750 Cornerstone Drive.

The members’ potluck, short annual meeting and sale will be at 6 p.m. tomorrow. The sale is open to the general public on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It is not too late to renew your membership or to join if you have not done so since last year’s sale. That can be done any time at the library or just prior to the potluck at the church. Annual dues are $15 for an individual, $25 for a family or $100 per person for a lifetime membership.

To help with planning, please call the library at 264-2209 to let them know you will be attending and what you will be bringing. Table service and beverages will be provided by the Friends.

Those who have attended the sale in previous years know that there are books to satisfy every reader. From fiction and non-fiction, from A to Z, you will find many books you cannot be without.

Although boxes will be provided, you may want to buy the new tote bags with the library logo to show your support for the library for $4.

And, of course, you will find DVDs and CDs, along with many children’s books. Prices will not break the budget at 50 cents for mass market paper backs, $2 for hardback and large softcovers, $1 per disc for CDs and DVDs, and a bargain of only 50 cents for children’s softcover books and $1 for children’s hardcover books. Those little readers in your family will find enough to engage them for many months.

Cash and checks will be accepted, but not credit cards.

This will be the Friends of the Library’s only fundraiser. Proceeds help support library programs, such as the Summer Reading Program, new computers for the patrons of the library to use and digitizing of past issues of The SUN.
