Fresh view

Dear Editor:

Two items.

I appreciated your editorial “An Opportunity to Step and Serve.” I think that the reason why many don’t, or tried and gave it up, is because there are so many boards and commissions with a majority that are so entrenched in defending past decisions that showed poor judgment and are not willing to hear/listen to someone with a fresh view on things. They would rather go down with a sinking ship than get into a lifeboat and change directions. So often the newbie is castigated, or censured because they chose not to “toe the line” with the rest.

The move to rescue the Liberty Theater through private donations. Has anybody thought about using how PBS gains public monetary support? For example, if someone donates a large amount give them a life membership in the Save the Liberty and free attendance to all future movies. It will gain funds and not cost the theater all that much. “A spoon full of sugar” so to speak.
