Four laws

Dear Editor:

Years ago as we sat around the campfire, my grandkids would ask, “Grandpa, how come there is so much evil in the world?” I would reply, “Because people ignore the four basic laws of God.” The four laws, two from theology and two from science, are, from theology, love God and your neighbor and from science, the first and second laws of Thermodynamics. The first being you can’t get something for nothing and the second is, you can’t even break even. These four laws are the foundation of all others. All schemes and people that violate these four laws will ultimately fail.

Homo sapiens in their arrogance believe they can outwit God. They are wrong. Students of the biblical wisdom literature (you won’t find many of them) will tell you that all wisdom (the ability to distinguish good from evil) begins with the fear of the Lord.

Today, few fear the Lord and as a consequence darkness (evil) blankets the earth.

Modern science has given evil people incredible power. The devil’s electronic box sits in our living room, frying our brains and the younger the brain, the easier it is to fry.
