Pagosa Springs and Durango members of the local Pi Beta Phi alumnae club gather on June 2 at the home of Melissa McDonald in honor of Founders’ Day and their Golden Arrows — those who have been members of the sorority for 50 or more years. Standing, left to right: Lisa Scott, Carole Howard, Melissa McDonald, Ann Norris, Constance Clark and Carolyn Edlund. Seated: Marcia Thomas, Penny Hart and Mary Bailly. Howard became a Golden Arrow this year. Thomas has been a member for 70 years. Pi Beta Phi, founded 147 years ago, is the oldest sorority in the United States.
