Food insecurity and equity

Dear Editor:
About a year ago, I was invited to attend a meeting at the CSU Extension building to talk about the food pantry that belongs to our church. I participated in the meeting, met many people in the food industry in Pagosa Springs. I spoke to the group about the items that we provide to our recipients in need of food. In the conversation, I happened to mention that the church really needed can openers for travelers and homeless folks that come to the food pantry daily.
