Five arrested in downtown bust

Five individuals were arrested last week following a drug bust at a motel in downtown Pagosa Springs.

The arrests took place shortly before 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, following several hours of surveillance and the obtaining of a search warrant, reported Detective Jacob Beach of the Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office.

Beach explained that the arrests followed an anonymous tip from a concerned citizen that came in to the ACSO at about 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Following receipt of the tip, a search warrant was obtained by about 7 p.m. and surveillance was conducted for about four hours prior to the simultaneous breach of two motel rooms, Beach said.

In the breach, Beach reported that approximately 14 grams of cocaine, 3 grams of methamphetamines and over $800 cash was found.

According to Beach, five Pagosa Springs residents were arrested on various charges during the alleged incident:

• Richard Garcia, 35, was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of controlled substances, unlawful use of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Amanda Snow, 30, was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of controlled substances, unlawful use of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Ana Calvillo, also known as Ana Salas, 24, was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of controlled substances, unlawful use of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful distribution/sale/possession of cocaine, and keeping/maintaining/controlling/renting or making available property for unlawful distribution or manufacturing of a controlled substance.

• Terri Thayn, 33, was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of controlled substances, unlawful use of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful distribution/sale/possession of cocaine, and keeping/maintaining/controlling/renting or making available property for unlawful distribution or manufacturing of a controlled substance.

• Brandi Pemble, 36, was arrested on charges of child abuse.

“We appreciate the information from the public, especially in matters relating to drug distribution,” Beach said.

This is nuts! I usedto hang with some of these people. It sucks when you grow up and leave town and ten yrs later, some people are still being stupid bums worse then they were when you left town all them years prior. If they havent figured life out by now, and found a reason to better themselves, then maybe they neeeeeed to be in jail. Cuz living the doped up hotel life gets old fast….. unless you got nothing else to live for.

  • sucka

Does anyone know the jail sentences that were given to each individual?

    • Haha
