Fire district seeking new assistant chief

The Pagosa Fire Protection District (PFPD) is in the process of hiring a new assistant chief following the resignation of Brian Leewitt recently.

Leewitt’s last day was July 3, and PFPD Chief Diane Bower indicated that she is in the process of interviewing two area candidates for the position.

While declining to name the two candidates, Bower said both are from the Four Corners area and have experience in an assistant chief role.
