The Pagosa Fire Protection District (PFPD) Auxiliary is hosting A Night at the Movies at the Liberty Theatre, sponsored by The Rose Restaurant.

The event benefits the PFPD, your local fire department and staff, as well as our many volunteer firefighters that care for our people and community. This summer has been very busy for all the firefighters, businesses, citizens and visitors.

The PFPD Auxiliary raises money to help the Pagosa fire department in many ways.

Currently, members of the group are hoping to raise money to provide food and water for the firefighters during emergency incidents that happen all throughout the year and sometimes take up to 12 hours.

The auxiliary has a converted ambulance, currently known as Rehab 1, that provides a place for the firefighters on scene to sit down, get cool (or warm in winter months), recharge and get back to work.

In order to raise funds, two movies will be shown on June 17. The first movie is “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” a 1968 film about a magical car and it should be a breath of fresh air for children and grownups alike.  The movie starts at 5:45 p.m. Cost is $5 for children and $8 for adults.

The second movie starts at 8 p.m. and features “Waking Ned Devine,” an hilarious story about a lottery winner in Ireland.  The cost is $10.

PFPD Auxiliary hopes you will be available to join in the fun and help support the hard work our firefighters do on our behalf.

If you cannot, attend but would like to make a donation, you can send it directly to, or drop it off at, PFPD Auxiliary at Station 1, 191 North Pagosa Blvd., Pagosa Springs, CO 81147.
