Let the holiday celebrations begin!
Festival of Trees
The annual Festival of Trees will be held on Friday, Nov. 30, at the Ross Aragon Community Center.
Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. with delicious hors d’oeuvres, a cash beer and wine bar, a silent auction and live music. Twenty-three trees will be decorated by non-profit organizations in a variety of styles, from the whimsical to the elegant.
Attendees should make sure that they arrive by 7:30 p.m. to vote for their favorite tree. The top 10 “favorite” trees will then progress to the live auction. Proceeds from the sale of a tree will benefit that particular nonprofit agency. Not only will you be assisting the community agency, but you will also have the opportunity to obtain a beautiful tree for your home or office, or you can donate a tree to a family in need.
Tickets are only $12 in advance and $15 at the door for a wonderful evening of fun.
Santa at the Visitor Center
Santa makes his annual visit to the downtown Visitor Center on Saturday, Dec. 1. His sleigh should arrive at 3 p.m. and he will be present until about 5:30 p.m.
As tradition holds, the Chamber and Visitor Center building will also be lit up that evening. With the Visitor Center, The Springs Resort, the star on Reservoir Hill, and some addition of lights in the downtown area, it will be a wonderful time to get out and enjoy a bit of Pagosa. The lighting of the center will take place at about 5:15 p.m.
While at the Visitor Center, enjoy cookies, beverages and trinkets. Parents will be treated to a free holiday photograph, compliments of Photos by Griz. There is still plenty of time to use this photo opportunity to provide your Christmas greeting from Pagosa Springs. Bring the children and enjoy a festive setting with plenty of treats for you and the kids.
