Festival of Trees — first 20 applicants will be accepted

Attention all non-profits: applications are being accepted for the eighth annual Festival of Trees event.

Only the first 20 applicants will be accepted into this year’s event.

Applications can be picked up at the Ross Aragon Community Center and are due back no later than Nov. 22.

If you are interested in helping sponsor a tree in this event, or if you would like more information about the Festival of Trees, please stop by the community center or call us at 264-4152.

Tuesday yoga

This is a reminder that, starting Tuesday, Nov. 5, the yoga class is being held from 10-11:30 a.m.

Please remember, all of our programs are free to anyone and everyone and there is no signup for these classes. All you have to do is show up at the listed time and enjoy the class.

If you have any questions, or if you need more information on any of the classes, call the community center.

Hand drum class

Starting this month, the hand drum class will be offered on Wednesdays from 1–2 p.m., instead of at night.

Youth archery changes

Youth archery is back at the Ross Aragon Community Center. The class is offered Mondays, 4–5 p.m. Call the center at 264-4152 for more information on this wonderful opportunity for the kids.

Small Fries Playgroup

This is a wonderful group of moms who enjoy getting together during the cold winter months to let their children have play dates. Bring your child’s bike and other outside games or activities, and enjoy playing inside the gym whenever the weather is cold outside. If you are interested, stop on by the center 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Fridays.

Other free programs

Mah Jongg: Tuesdays, 1-3 p.m. and Fridays 12:30-4:30 p.m. Call the center with any questions, 264-4152.

Pickleball: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8-11 a.m. If you would like to learn the game of pickleball, or just need a pickleball fix, join us to learn this fun and exciting game. Loaner paddles are available. All you advanced players, come in on Mondays from 10-11 a.m. Contact Fran if you have any questions, 884-3184.

Duplicate Bridge: Tuesday, 5-10 p.m.; Friday, noon-5 p.m. Call Stan, 731-2217, or e-mail Stan at sunset1310@aol.com for more information on this game.

Pagosa Bridge 4 Fun: Mondays, 12:30-4 p.m. For more information, contact the community center, 264-4152.

Hoopsters: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8-9 a.m. Hoopsters are a great group of guys getting out there twice a week for a good, old-fashioned game of basketball. If interested, just drop in and check it out.

Yoga: Tuesdays 9-10:30 a.m. and Thursdays 10-11:30 a.m. Rejuvenate with us. Please bring a mat or towel. Call the center with questions, 264-4152.

Dulcimer: The dulcimer is an entry folk instrument, not as difficult as the guitar to learn. If you would like to learn to play this instrument, come to the center on Wednesdays 2-3:30 p.m. Call the center for information at 264-4152.

The Ross Aragon Community Center has the space you are looking for. We have reasonably priced rooms to meet your event needs. The community center hours are Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday by appointment only.
