FACE to award $3,000 in teacher grants

By Lynne McCrudden
Special to The PREVIEW

FACE, the Foundation for Archuleta County Education, announces that a $1,000 grant will be awarded to each school in the district for use in the 2014-2015 school year.

Grant applications will be distributed to each teacher in the district by the principals of the elementary, middle and high schools. Grant applications must be returned by April 2.

FACE received nonprofit status in July of 2013 and immediately had the first fundraiser “Face-off of the Bands” in August of 2013. This fundraiser raised a portion of the grant money being made available this spring.

Our goal is to set up a grant structure with scholarships or projects that provide funding to enrich the educational experience for Archuleta County students. The FACE board of directors will select one application from each school and announce the awards by April 28. More information concerning FACE and its board members is available at our website, www.facepagosa.org. Members of the community may provide additional financial support by contacting the FACE board of directors.

Donations can be made through PayPal at our webpage, or by check mailed to P.O. Box 2051, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. Please send questions or comments about FACE to our e-mail address, face81147@gmail.com.
