Running all weekend, the event features pre-1976 vehicles, 4x4s, trucks and motorcycles, most tricked-out and all displaying plenty of classic style.
Festivities begin at 6 p.m. on the west side of Pagosa Springs, with vehicle registration and a meet and greet.
On Saturday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., vehicles will be parked on the 400 block of Lewis Street — Pagosa’s downtown festival location — around the Adobe Building and Bear Creek parking lots, and if enough cars are shown, at the Overlook parking area in the 400 block of Pagosa Street.
Saturday’s “Show & Shine” event gives spectators a chance to admire antique and custom cars while enjoying great springtime weather, warm hospitality and stunning mountain vistas.
There will be awards in 14 categories including the new Muscle Car and People’s Choice categories.
Music, displays, beverages, activities for the children and various vendors will be on hand to add to the festivities. The downtown area is a perfect place to stop and relax for a tasty lunch or mid-day snack after touring the exhibition.
With the conclusion of the “Show & Shine” event, this year’s inaugural “Burn Out” event will commence; smoke, screaming engines and suspense is guaranteed as spectators wait to see which tire blows first!
Following the show-off parade, as cars travel various routes throughout the town to preen with unique style and well-polished chrome, car owners and spectators alike are invited to convene at the Eagle Mountain Mercantile parking lot for a street dance, from 6 p.m. until dark. Join the mix for a combination of the old and the newfangled, as poodle skirts and bobby socks meet burning rubber and high speed engines.
