Wounded Warrior Project
June 1-5
The Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce will host alumni from the Wounded Warrior Project June 1-5. Pagosa Springs will host 15 soldiers (each accompanied by their primary caretaker). Angel Flight West will transport the warriors to the area.

While in Pagosa, each warrior will have their own vehicle transportation, handicap accessible for their needs. Depending on their level of interest and ability, the guests will go horseback riding, white water rafting, fishing, hiking and camping. Each will be given the opportunity to soak in geothermal mineral baths and receive massages, take historic tours of Pagosa Springs and attend a Thursday night rodeo performance.

A special recognition event for the warriors will be held June 1 at The Springs Resort — the time to be announced. Members of American Legion Post 108 will present the colors and the public is invited to attend. A special invitation to this event is extended to all veterans and active-duty personnel in the area.

Contributions in support of the Wounded Warrior event in Pagosa Springs can be sent to P.O. Box 787, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147 and sponsorship opportunities are available as well. The net proceeds will be used to offset expenses incurred on behalf of the warriors during their visits to Pagosa and donated to the Wounded Warrior Project for its Backpack Program, which provides packs containing essential care items to service members wounded in battle.
