| The 14th annual Four Corners Folk Festival will take place over Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 4-6, atop beautiful Reservoir Hill Park in downtown Pagosa Springs.
Thousands of people of all ages flock each year to Pagosa Springs for three days of live performances and workshops that provide the focus for a music-filled weekend.
Nationally- and internationally-acclaimed performers for 2009 include Tim O’Brien, the subdudes, Eddie From Ohio, The Bills, the Darrell Scott Band, The Infamous Stringdusters, The Greencards, The Quebe Sisters, Shannon Whitworth, The Marc Atkinson Trio, Anne and Pete Sibley, and more to be announced.
The stellar music features a variety of influences, including bluegrass, Celtic, jazz, newgrass, folk rock, blues and everything in between.
Rising above downtown from its central location, Reservoir Hill provides outstanding campsites located in the 120-acre ponderosa pine forest, just a short walk from the main stage area. Of course, many festival-goers choose to stay at one of Pagosa’s fine lodging establishments and take the free shuttle up to Reservoir Hill each morning.
Campfire jam sessions are a regular feature and a highlight for many attendees of the festival, and go on all day and well into the night. Other activities include late-night acoustic stage performances, music workshops, a food court, beer garden and vendor expo.
A large tent covers the stage and seating for 900-plus people. There is room in the meadow outside the tent to set up tarps and low chairs. All seating is general admission.
The Four Corners Folk Festival is family friendly, offering free admission to children 12 and under, as well as a free children’s program including arts and crafts, special musical performances and workshops for aspiring young musicians and their families.
The Four Corners Folk Festival is supported by a grant from the Colorado Council on the Arts. The Colorado Council on the Arts and its activities are made possible through an annual appropriation from the Colorado General Assembly and federal funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Tickets can be purchased at advanced prices at Re•Sport in the City Market shopping center or downtown at Moonlight Books, through Sept. 2. They will be available at the gate on the day of show if not sold out.
Tickets and additional information are available online at www.folkwest.com, or by calling (877) 472-4672.
