|Now in its 58th year, the annual, four-day Archuleta County Fair is one of the highlights of the summer season for locals and visitors alike.
This year’s event is set for July 30 to Aug. 2, and fairgoers will enjoy a wide variety of activities and events including live, professional entertainment under the tent, 4-H activities, rodeo action, a livestock auction, activities and games for children, and a beer garden for adults.
Thursday marks opening day at the fairgrounds and gates open at 4 p.m. Highlights for the day include the Busted Spur Rodeo.
Activities for Friday, July 31, include games and contests for children, various shows, roaming performances, and food and beverage vendors.
Events scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 1, include the 4-H livestock auction, a chuckwagon dinner and an evening dance.
On Sunday, Aug. 2, the fair begins with a praise and worship service, followed by a pancake breakfast, and the children’s rodeo.
General admission to the fair is $2 for adults and $1 for children ages 3 to 12. Some events, such as the dance, have separate admission fees.
The fairgrounds are located just south of Pagosa Springs on U.S. 84.
