The group meets at Boss Hogg’s Restaurant from noon to 1:30 p.m. Dr. Bill Plested, M.D., former president of the American Medical Association, will be the speaker. In 2011 he talked to about “How Obama Healthcare Will Effect Your Pocket Book.” Now he comes back to provide critical insights into “Obama Care, What Now.” All are welcome.
The Men of St. Patrick’s will offer that opportunity from 5:30-7 p.m. in the church parish hall. For only $2 per child and $5 for adults, you get all the pancakes you can eat along with tasty sausage and drinks. “This is a fun family meal that kids and parents alike always enjoy,” said Fr. Doug Neel, rector of St. Patrick’s. “This is an opportunity to bring friends and enjoy a fun and tasty meal with a Mardi Gras atmosphere of festivity.”
A party open to all Pagosans at the IHM Parish Hall on Lewis Street with traditional Cajun foods. Coffee and lemonade will be served. There will be prizes for the best women’s and men’s costumes and dancing to Cajun music. Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple with funds going to benefit the religious education and youth ministries of the parish. Tickets are available at Silver Dollar Liquor, Homespun Comforts, and The Antler Shed and after all masses at both Catholic churches.
