Enriched life?

Dear Editor:

Do you have a Wal-Mart? No, but we have a great super market, an Alco, a Dollar General, two great hardware-building supply stores, etc. Years ago, when I lived in a city and there was a Wal-Mart — I would go to the grocery store with “my list” and that was it. I was “young” back then and attracted to “things,” much like the young today. I learned something about myself “back then.” Say, I would go to Wal-Mart to save a nickel on a tube of toothpaste — that was all I needed right then — but that tube of toothpaste ended up costing me at least $50 as I found so many other “things” I thought I needed as I searched for the toothpaste counter. Of course, I put it all on the card and next month, I had to pay for all that “stuff” that I didn’t know I needed until I went to Wal-Mart — and did all that “stuff” enrich my life? I doubt it.
